Hemingway House, designed by the acclaimed architect Larry Warren, is a beautiful blend of classic plantation charm and contemporary luxury. Perfectly situated between the tranquil Gibbes Beach and the vibrant Mullins Beach on Barbados’ west coast, this villa offers spectacular ocean views and a peaceful, private atmosphere.

The villa enjoys a unique position with Mullins Bay to the north and the sparkling Caribbean Sea directly in front. Constructed with coral stone inside and out, Hemingway House features handcrafted lighting, ceiling fans, and full air conditioning for your comfort.

Set within lush tropical gardens, the villa includes a lagoon pool framed by a stunning rock waterfall adorned with bougainvillea. The oceanfront gazebo with a marble dining table offers the perfect setting for outdoor meals. A distinctive outdoor candelabra, a gift from the architect, hangs gracefully from a tree, enhancing the serene garden ambiance.

Spacious and Elegant Interiors

The ground floor presents a flowing indoor/outdoor living and dining area opening onto a wraparound terrace with sweeping ocean views. A garden room bedroom with a marbled en-suite overlooks the pool and has its own terrace. The ocean-facing terrace features alfresco dining with vibrant Kilim furnishings and handcrafted iron gates that fold open, blending the indoor and outdoor spaces beautifully.

Gourmet Kitchen and Entertaining Areas

Hemingway House boasts a fully equipped kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, including a Wolf professional range, Miele ovens, Subzero refrigerator, ice makers, and a walk-in pantry. The adjacent bar area includes two wine coolers and a butler’s sink. A laundry room and discreet staff quarters are also part of the property.

Luxurious Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The entire upper level is dedicated to three spacious bedrooms:

  • Master Suite: This expansive ocean-facing retreat features a large bedroom with hardwood floors, a walk-in dressing room, a private study, and a wraparound balcony with stunning sea, bay, and pool views. The marble en-suite bathroom includes a centerpiece bath, double vanities, a seating area, and a large shower with jets.

  • Second Bedroom: With its own walk-in dressing room and balcony overlooking the bay and gardens, this room has a large en-suite bathroom with a shower, bathtub, and double vanities.

  • Third Bedroom: Opening to the balcony with garden views, this room includes an en-suite bathroom with double vanities and a walk-in shower. The bed can be set as a king or two twins.

  • Fourth Bedroom: A comfortable queen bedroom offering privacy and comfort.

All bedrooms feature televisions and Sonos sound systems for entertainment.
