The Sandpiper, is a quiet family run hotel, with 47 rooms/suites situated at the heart of the fashionable West Coast of Barbados. Owned by the O’Hara family, which also own The Coral Reef Club located a few hundred yards further North. The atmosphere at Sandpiper is friendly, intimate, and a wonderful place for a holiday hideaway. Over the past few years The Sandpiper has undertaken major renovations including the addition of the 2 fabulous Tree Top suites and now has overall a more stylish look, just a few reasons for being a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World along with it’s sister hotel, the Coral Reef Club.

The Sandpiper is nestled amongst 7 acres of extensive manicured and very colourful gardens leading to the white sands of the beach. The interior décor is that of a subdued traditional Bajan theme with its pickled pine ceiling, curtains and prints of old-time Barbados.

Accommodation :
The rooms are located in separate buildings along the edges of the property encompassing the free form swimming pool and dining room in the centre. The buildings vary in style from Bajan coral rock, or stucco and wood, decorated to a theme of brown or black on white, with overhanging balconies. Guests receive a warm welcome, with a complimentary cocktail and flowers in their room on arrival.

There is a choice of accommodation, from standard rooms, to one and two-bedroom apartments/suites which have larger space, but all have either a balcony or terrace, looking out on the surrounding greenery, air-conditioning, fridges, toasters, hair dryers, CD player/clock radios and safes and bathrooms that have combination showers and bath. The one and two bedroom apartments have also have a kitchen and a living room. Dressing gowns and Moulton Brown shampoos are provided in the bathrooms.
The renovated rooms have calmer colours - light blue, beige and green, in place of the chintz, floral furnishings and traditional wicker, with now furniture brought in from the Far East. The latest addition to the accommodation are the 2 Tree Top Suites, interiors British designer Helen Green and each has a private plunge pool.
Garden Rooms have a garden view and accommodate two adults only.

One Bedroom suites have a separate living room with a sofa bed (will take either 3 adults or two adults and 2 children), kitchen, and give either an ocean or garden view.
Two bedroom suites are larger but similar, have two bathrooms and will accommodate up to six people (with two on a sofa bed in the living room).

Tree Top Suites: These two 1 bedroom suites are wonderful and are Sandpiper top room category, they both have sea views, a covered terrace and open sundeck with private plunge pool (12ft x 9ft), a spacious living room with TV, DVD player and CD player (selection of DVDs and CDs), bedroom with dressing area and large bathroom with tub and a large separate walk-in shower (all air-conditioned). Suites accommodate two adults, one has a 4 poster king bed and the other has a king bed,  which can convert to two twins.

The curved bay is lined by the sandy beach, shaded by the almond and palm trees, with some wooden decking with sun loungers and on the calm waters of the West Coast for good swimming, and access to complimentary water-sports. During the day tables are set next to Harold's Beach Bar in the garden above the beach where guests enjoy lunch under the shade of the parasols.
